There are several reasons crowns are necessary; when large amounts oftooth structure are damaged by trauma or decay, teeth that have old, cracked fillings and root canal treated teeth.  They are laboratory processed and made of gold, all porcelain or porcelain fused over metal/gold.  Crowns cover the entire tooth and can give you the strength, beauty, and translucency of a natural tooth.

Veneers are a much thinner layer of porcelain bonded to the front facing of the tooth. They are frequently used for cosmetic purposes to improve position, size, color and shape of your natural teeth.  Veneers are not appropriate for all teeth. These are also laboratory processed.
Inlays and Onlays/Conservative procedures
Inlays and Onlays are restorations that fall between a filling and a crown. Often the biting surface of a tooth is too damaged to be treated with a filling, but is not so structurally damaged that it needs a crown. Inlays and Onlays are manufactured to precise measurements in a laboratory by a dental technician. Both are generally made of tooth colored porcelain or composite materials and in some cases, made of gold. They are bonded directly to existing tooth structure. The decision of which restoration is to be used will depend on the pre-existing condition of the tooth. Unlike other fillings, because the inlays and onlays are chemically bonded to the tooth, they can restore a tooth to near its original strength.
Composite Fillings/Bonding
Today, there are tooth colored materials which can replace your old silver/amalgam fillings. Silver colored metal restorations were the standard of care years ago and they were very effective in their time, but they are not esthetic and tend to darken or blacken with time. Composite resin dental fillings are strong, durable and blend into the natural tooth making them virtually undetectable.  A tooth colored bonding resin can be used in repairing chipped, stained and worn teeth.
Dental Implants
New technology has now found a way to replace a natural missing tooth. A small titanium screw is placed in the upper or lower jaw and is used as the root portion of the missing tooth. It serves as the base for the new restoration which may be one or more teeth; the support for a crown, bridge or denture. The restored implant will look and feel like a natural tooth.
Bridges are restorations that are laboratory processed to replace a missing tooth by "bridging" over the open space. The teeth adjacent (abutment teeth) to the missing tooth/teeth are prepared for a crown and the tooth missing is replaced with a pontic (fake tooth).  The pontic is cast in place with the abutment crowns to form a bridge.  The restored area will look natural with the pontic (fake tooth) not detectible.  One or more missing teeth can be replaced with a single bridge.
Oral Appliances for Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Snoring affects approximately 30% of America.  Research shows that snoring can negatively affect your health because the body and brain don’t get enough oxygen during sleep.  Even if you do sleep, it is not quality sleep that you need to function during your day.  Oral appliances can help alleviate this.  Please contact our office for more information.
Tooth Whitening or Bleaching

This is a process that lightens yellowed or discolored natural teeth. Studies have shown that bleaching is safe and effective to cosmetically enhance your smile, providing a more youthful and vital appearance.

Other services:

Periodontal Treatment
If it has been quite some time since your last cleaning, you may require a more detailed cleaning to get your gums and teeth back to being healthy.  We start by taking pocket measurements of your teeth and gums to check for bone loss.  Treatment may include Periodontal Scaling (deep cleaning) or Root Planning and Scaling (which requires anesthetic). This may take 2-4 visits with a 6 week follow-up appointment.  It will require you to continue being on a 3-4 month cleaning program to keep your gums healthy and maintained.

Mouth Guards/Brux Appliance
If you grind or clench your teeth while you sleep, you may experience pain/tightness in your jaw, signs of gum recession and/or bone loss.  A bite appliance will help reduce these symptoms caused by this subconcious habit .  They are individually customized so we can make sure the fit is ideal for your needs.

Removable Dental Prosthesis
For missing teeth, we can make dentures or removable partials.
Orthodontic Treatment
Types of orthodontic treatment and services offered are:
    * Invisilign System: Transulcent (clear) overlay templates called aligners
that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move
the teeth, with little to no discomfort.
    * Clear Ceramic Braces: made of translucent (clear), strong saffhire crystals.
    * A sophisticated wire technique that's structured to control movement with speed
and efficiency. It improves patient comfort while maintaining overall performance.
    * Retention: when we remove your braces you will start the retention phase which
may last a minimum of 24 months. This is a very important phase of your treatment
and the long term result will depend on you and your retainers.
